IoT wearables for monitoring ECG and activity

Textile-integrated sensors offer a variety of new application options for diagnosis or early detection of cardiovascular problems such as cardiac arrhythmia. The following scenarios are potential areas of application:

  • retirement homes
  • assistance systems for motor vehicles
  • jobs with security-related activities
  • medical cardiology tests

In order to minimize problems when recording ECG signals under ambulatory conditions (small amplitudes, artefacts, etc.), GETEMED is implementing AI technologies in this ZIM-KOOP project sponsored by the BMWi in its ECG analysis algorithms with the aim of detecting cardiac arrhythmia with a high degree of sensitivity and specificity.
